Soft Wash House Washing In Zebulon, NC

Green and black growth on your siding is not dirt. It is living organic growth, and blasting it with high pressure damages the surface without stopping it from coming back. Soft washing kills it at the root.

What's Involved

Soft washing uses low pressure plus a cleaning solution. The solution does the work, not the force of the water. That is what makes it safe on vinyl, brick, painted wood and stucco, where high pressure can cause damage.

High pressure on siding is risky. It can force water up behind lap siding and into the wall, strip paint, and etch softer surfaces. Surfaces cleaned with pressure alone also tend to regrow faster, because the organic growth was only knocked off, not killed.

On the day, plants and landscaping get wet down before and rinsed after. The solution is applied at low pressure, given time to work, then rinsed clean.

Common Questions

Will soft washing damage my siding or my paint?

No. Soft washing runs at low pressure, closer to a garden hose than a pressure washer. The cleaning solution does the work. That is what makes it safe on vinyl, brick, painted wood and stucco, where high pressure can strip paint or force water behind the siding.

How long until the green comes back?

It depends on shade, tree cover and which direction the wall faces. North-facing and heavily shaded walls hold moisture longer and grow back sooner. Because soft washing kills the growth rather than knocking it off, it generally stays clean longer than a pressure-only cleaning.

Do you need to get into my house or use my water?

No access to the inside is needed. An outdoor spigot is used for water, so nobody has to be home as long as the spigot is on and reachable.

What about my plants?

Landscaping around the work area is wet down before the solution goes on and rinsed again after. Wetting the foliage first keeps the solution from soaking in.
